Pediatric intensivist Dr. Anupam Sehgal and general pediatrician Dr. Anne Moffatt collaborate with investigators from pediatric departments across Canada to strengthen research evidence through membership in the Paediatric Inpatient Research Network (PIRN), the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group (CCCTG) Pediatric Interest Group, and Pediatric Emergency Research Canada (PERC). They are involved as co-investigators in the following multi-centre studies:
In addition, Dr. Sehgal is currently leading a study of treatment adherence to seizure management of children and youth presenting to the emergency departments of two general hospitals (supported by a grant from the Clinical Teachers’ Association of Queen’s (CTAQ) Research Endowment Fund). He and Lakshmi Subramanian (Pediatrics resident) are co-principal investigators on a study that seeks to answer the question "How common are eating disorders in individuals with immune-mediated gastrointestinal diseases?" using ICES data. This project is supported by a grant from the SEAMO Innovation Fund. Pediatric co-investigators include Dr. Amy Acker and Dr. Dan Mulder.
Our department also contributes data to the International Kawasaki Disease Registry and is a participating site in a study examining the association of Kawasaki Disease and COVID-19 with cardiac complications.
