Members of the Division of Neonatology, in partnership with Dr. Sandra Fucile from the School of Rehabilitation Therapy, are involved as principal or co-investigators in several interdisciplinary research studies aimed at improving the developmental outcomes of premature infants. Some of our current projects include the following:
-
A randomized controlled trial assessing the developmental outcomes of a parent-administered sensorimotor program (led by Dr. Fucile and funded by an Early Career Investigator Grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research [CIHR])
-
Development of a nipple monitoring device to assess breast/bottle feeding skills in high-risk infants (led by Dr. Dow and funded by the inaugural University Hospitals Kingston Foundation Health Care Innovation Fund)
-
Oral feeding outcomes of infants born with neonatal abstinence syndrome
