Dr. Mariana Silva is a full-time professor of Pediatrics and a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist.
Dr. Silva is a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine and completed her residency training and fellowship at the University of British Columbia.
She works in the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario where she consults on the broad range of cancers in children. She also consults on Pediatric Hematology including bleeding disorders.
She teaches medical students and residents on topics in Pediatric Oncology and Hematology. She is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
She is the Vice-President of CTAQ (Clinical Teachers Association at Queen’s) and a SEAMO governor, as well as a member of the SEAMO executive committee and the SEAMO Nominating and Governance Committee.
She is the District 7 representative for the Ontario Medical Association, a member of the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario Board of Directors, the Camp Trillium Board of Directors, The C17 Board of Directors and the Association of Hemophilia Clinic Directors of Canada.
She is an active researcher and is involved with a number of clinical trials in pediatric oncology and hematology. She is the local Principal Investigator for COG (Children’s Oncology Group).
Dr.Silva enjoys tennis and international travel.
